I think it all started with my box of crayons. You know the kind with the free sharpener in the box. I also seem to remember melting those same crayons on a lightbulb and seeing the different colors evolve. That childhood love for colors grew with me into adulthood and developed into a desire to dye fabric and fiber. Fiber is really my first love. I take a special interest in working in a back to basic manner. I have been spinning for about 32 years, weaving for about 29, hence the nickname Spiderlady,"she spins, she weaves". My first wheel was purchased from a rummage sale, and a monster was created, and now I have six wheels and a whole lot of drop and support spindles...one can never have too many! I have several looms including a Navajo rug loom, tapestry and a bead loom.. I love color and how it relates to nature. I have the attention span of a gnat so my areas of creativity go far and wide. I love many different things intensly for a short time and then move on. I am retired from doing art shows, because I am living my dream now, by owning my own shop. I've been a Steamfitter with Local #601 since 1979, my job supported my passion as an artist.

I own my own shop in Oak Creek , WI, at the Market Place, it is a quiant little village of shops and Artisans. I have fulfilled a lifelong dream of having my own place.

It is true that dreams can come true, it is just not on our timetable!! Almost 30 years ago with bellbottoms and tiretread sandles I used to walk the cobblestone paths of the Market Place. I would be buying incense and pottery, earrings and candles, dreaming about having my own place there, selling my wares. Who would have thought that it really would have happened. So don't give up hope.

I am responsible for an event that is called Socks for Soldiers. With the help of a network of antique sock machine knitters and fiber friends this event has been sucessful since 2001 and is getting better each year. Thanks to the internet for making our world a smaller place, socks are sent to me from all across the country , including Canada. These socks are then donated to the Veterans at a Christmas Party at Woods Hospital in Wisconsin. This event could not be done without the help of everyone sending socks and those closing toes and donations from businesses in the area
